Background
Jay Hicks is the founder of Tragedy Academy Studios, a voice artist, and host of The Tragedy Academy Podcast. He is the creator of Authenticity Amplified — a trauma-informed voice archive developed over seven years and more than 200 hours of unscripted conversation. Built from deeply personal, lived experience, the archive was designed to bring emotional nuance and presence into modern AI voice technology.
Jay has been featured in Authority Magazine (via Medium), VoyageTampa, and as a guest on several shows exploring mental health, trauma resilience, emotional resonance, and neurodivergent storytelling. His voice work centers on narration that is lived—not performed—helping bridge the emotional gap in AI-generated speech.
Personal touch
I’ve always believed the soul of a voice lives between the words. Respeecher’s technology doesn’t just preserve sound — it preserves presence. I’m proud to be part of something that helps AI speak with empathy, not just clarity.
